Who we are

Tejwani Industries Private Limited (TIPL) is a Maharashtra-based electronics manufacturing company founded by Vishal Tejwani. We build precision SMT assembly equipment for electronics engineers, hardware startups, R&D labs, and small EMS operations across India.

Our product lineup — PlaceStation, SolderStation, and StencilStation — forms a complete, end-to-end SMT assembly ecosystem, all engineered and manufactured under one roof in Maharashtra, India.

Backed by Nikhil Kamath's WTFund

PlaceStation is a WTFund portfolio company. Founded by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, WTFund is India's largest non-dilutive grant program for founders under 25 — backing the country's most ambitious young builders with capital, mentorship, and access, with no equity taken.

Our mission

India's electronics manufacturing sector is growing fast. But the tools to build electronics in-house — pick and place machines, reflow ovens, stencil printers — have always been imported, expensive, and hard to support locally. We set out to change that.

PlaceStation is built for Indian engineers, priced for Indian budgets, invoiced with full GST, and supported from India. No import duties. No international RMA. No waiting weeks for spare parts.

Built on open source

PlaceStation began as a derivative of the open-source LumenPnP by Opulo Inc., licensed under the CERN Open Hardware Licence Version 2 – Weakly Reciprocal (CERN-OHL-W v2), and has since been extensively re-engineered — including a custom motherboard, MGN12 linear rails, sensorless homing, and closed-loop powered feeders.

On the software side, PlaceStation runs on OpenPnP, the open-source machine control platform. We maintain our own branch of OpenPnP with modifications for our powered feeders and calibration workflow, and we publish it openly.

We are grateful to Opulo, the OpenPnP project, and the wider open-hardware community for making this work possible. Full attribution, our record of changes, and the complete source for our design and our OpenPnP branch are published at github.com/placestation, in line with our obligations under the applicable open-source licences.

Made in India

Every PlaceStation product is engineered and manufactured at our facility in Kalyan, Maharashtra. We carry full GST registration (GSTIN: 27AALCT0935H1Z6) and provide proper tax invoices for all purchases — essential for Indian businesses claiming input tax credit.
